DEANNA ROCKENBACH

For the twelfth year in a row Coach Deanna Rockenbach of the Bad Homburg Hornets will head the baseball section and will be assisted by several Hornets players.

Born in Seattle, Washington, she lived in several different states and grew up mostly in New Jersey. In school she was very active in sports, playing field hockey, basketball, volleyball and badminton. She played softball and baseball then just for fun.

She settled in Friedrichsdorf and got into baseball through her son, Kevin, who has played for the Bad Homburg Hornets since he was 11. Deanna was, in her words, only a “baseball mom” until 2007 when she became an active player on the Hornets slow-pitch softball fun team. A year later she joined the women’s fast pitch softball team together with her daughter Michelle, 14 at the time.

She enjoys showing children how to play baseball/softball at events like “Bad Homburg in Bewegung” and at schools. Deanna Rockenbach will be assisted by players and coaches from the Bad Homburg Hornets and FTV 1860 Frankfurt baseball teams.

Deanna and her team will be assisted by the old hands - Torsten Berner of FTV 1860 Frankfurt and Marty Hanson of the Bad Homburg Hornets.
